Obasanjo Denies Talks on Nnamdi Kanu’s Release with South-East Leaders
By Former President Olusegun Obasanjo clarified that the release of Nnamdi Kanu was not discussed during his meeting with South-East governors in Enugu State on Tuesday.
Obasanjo and Chief Emeka Anyaoku met with the governors to discuss regional development issues, such as security, infrastructure, economic cooperation, and collaboration, complementing the national economic agenda. A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, emphasized that Kanu’s release was not part of their discussions.
Obasanjo stated, “The issue of Nnamdi Kanu was not on the agenda and was not discussed in my presence.”
