Mohbad’s Death Linked to Adverse Drug Reaction, Autopsy Reveals
After nearly a year since the passing of Nigerian rapper and singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, the results of his autopsy have been disclosed, shedding light on the potential cause of his demise.
The autopsy report, which circulated online yesterday, suggests a probable link between Mohbad’s death and an adverse drug reaction. While the exact cause remains inconclusive, the absence of significant post-mortem and toxicology findings indicates a likelihood of a drug reaction.
Conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, the autopsy involved retrieving samples from various bodily sources like gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung, all aimed at conducting a comprehensive toxicology assessment.
The report highlights that anti-histamines, commonly used for treating allergies, were found in Mohbad’s system. However, the concentration detected was not within a lethal range. Despite this discovery, the autopsy couldn’t definitively determine the cause of death due to challenges in obtaining timely blood samples for investigating a potential anaphylactic shock.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, under mysterious circumstances and was laid to rest the following day at the age of 27. His untimely death sparked widespread controversy, with fans and celebrities demanding justice and implicating figures like his former boss, Naira Marley, and Sam Larry.
In response to public outcry, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-man Special Investigation Team to delve into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, aiming to provide closure to his grieving supporters and ascertain accountability in this tragic event.
