26 Villagers Abducted as Bandits Raid Niger State, Rustling Cows

A chilling wave of terror swept through Niger State communities on Sunday and Monday, as bandits struck in Mashegu and Shiroro Local Government Areas, leaving a trail of fear and devastation in their wake.

In a daring raid on Adogo Malam village, the bandits snatched six innocent individuals, while another brutal attack on Tunga Kawo community, just three kilometers from Mashegu, saw 20 people taken captive and numerous cows rustled.

The whereabouts of the abducted victims remain unknown, and their families are in a state of anguish, awaiting news of their loved ones. The bandits have yet to make contact or demand ransom, leaving the families in a state of uncertainty.

Malam Hussain Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), confirmed the incidents, stating, “We have received reports of persistent banditry activities in Shiroro and Mashegu LGAs. The attacks resulted in the kidnapping of six persons in Adogo Mallam village on Sunday and 20 persons in Tunga Kawo community on Monday, with hundreds of cows rustled.”
